PREACHING THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL IN HIGH WYCOMBE FEBRUARY 2017
The Minister preaching in High Wycombe recently. He was helped Pastors John Sherwood (Finchley) and Jack Douglas (Maidenhead, along with some folk from the church. We endeavoured to set forth the message of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. A good number of tracts were distributed. One person (a professing Christian) came up and said that we were putting people off Christianity by being too aggressive and confrontational, because we were "shouting at them". Pastor Simpson tried to explain that raising one's voice in public preaching is not shouting at people, but the necessary proclamation of an urgent message. Our Lord declared, "What ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops” (Matthew 10:27). There were a couple of useful conversations between our helpers and passers-by, and one lady took a John's Gospel. May the Lord be pleased to grant us fruit from this public witness.
