AS A CHURCH WE ARE CURRENTLY
PROTESTING AT THE WAY IN WHICH SUPERMARKETS
ARE SELLING HALAL MEAT
WITH NO LABELLING TO THAT EFFECT
We have held two protests/witnesses outside our local Waitrose store, and have written to Tesco, Sainsbury and Waitrose head offices. We have also made representations to the local MPs and to the Secretary of State at DEFRA, and have had a letter published by the Daily Telegraph on this very serious matter. To see the letter, click on the link below and scroll down to ‘Objection to halal meat’.

2) Do any of Waitrose’s meat-
3) Did Waitrose consider the sensitivities of Christians, when it made its decision to stock halal meat?
4) In its selling of unlabelled halal meat has Waitrose considered the reality of

FACING UP TO THE TEMPORARY
NATURE OF HUMAN EXISTENCE
"I am a creature of a day, passing through life as an arrow through the air. I am
a spirit come from God and returning to God : just hovering over the great gulf,
till, a few moments hence, I am no more seen; I drop into an unchangeable eternity.
I want to know one thing -

The church is situated on the main road (B474)
